Just arrived Melaka from Bangkok like 2 days ago and i couldn't believe that i had finished all my photography shooting within the 4days travelling. SERIOUSLY.
To be honest, i'm afraid my photos couldn't get approve but i really hope among all the 1k photos that i've taken there are some the right ones.
Well, this trip actually was unexpected and all planned in a sudden so i couldn't do much research before i visit to Bangkok.
So i still keep on my first decision which is SPACES AND PEOPLE as my theme and i will be focusing on all the particular markets in Bangkok.
The first market i've visited was Chatuchak Weekend Market. It's one of the world largest weekend markets and also one of the tourist attractions. The area has divided into 27 sections ( IT'S REALLY A BIG AREA ) which has more than 8000 stalls that sell different kind of goods such as clothes, antiques, food and drinks, pets, plant and etc where you can literally shop till you drop!
The second market is Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market. It's the largest wholesale and retail fresh flower market in Bangkok. The market is open for 24 hours and it's more lively after midnight. So i visit twice which was at evening and after dinner to capture the difference between day and night.
Last stop of the day, Yaowarat, Chinatown's Bangkok is one of the most exciting and busiest part of the city. It's the world's most renowned street food destination and rich with Thai-Chinese tradition. The street packed with market stree-side restaurants and also mixed up with fruits, clothes and souvenir stalls. Usually Chinatown becomes more lively at night and the market area is very cramped. Most of the food stalls are opened during this time and serve with great food. Walk along the street, bright LED lights, red lanterns, and huge crowd can be spotted around.
The next day, we woke up at 6am in the morning and went to the Maeklong Railway Market. It is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, and is centred on the Maeklong Railway's track. It took us one and a half hour to reach and managed to capture the view of train passing through the market which came at 9.45am but due to the heavy rain in the early morning causes some places were flooded AT THE END THE TRAIN CANCELLED DEPART AND I WAS LIKE WT****!!! I am really upset that i miss the chance to catch the view of train when pass through the market and the view when all the sellers are retracting their tents just for letting the train pass through. Among all the markets this is my favourite market as it shows the real way of thai lifestyle.
After visiting Maeklong Train Market, we straight headed to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. It's the most popular floating market in Thailand. We get to witness the river packed with wood boats overflowing with fruits and vegetables and the seller sell to the people that standing on land. Also, get a glimpse of the people who living on the river. It's a nice experience to explore their lifestyle and the culture activities that occur all the way just within the river. Visitors and seller bring noise and colour to the area. It's overcrowded and causes me couldn't get off from the boat and took the whole view of the river market at a higher place. Quite sad.
THESE ARE JUST THE SMALL PART OUT OF 1K PHOTOS THAT I'VE TAKEN.
I hope these photos get fit into the theme.
Content maybe will be in a form of journal as i wish to show people what i've seen through my eyes and my experiences in this journey. I think this is the most simplest and the best way.
To sum up this trip, i do really experience a lot. As being a tourist get to experience the local's lifestyle and their fascinating culture activities. It's my very first time to explore every single details of everything in markets like how the people interact with spaces. We wouldn't attempt or have this realization in our daily life. It's pretty amazing to realize how do people use and live in a space either it's a big or a small area. I think this trip was really amazing.
