But after been through the past 18 weeks, i've changed my perception towards this subject.
First of all, i would like to give a big shoutout to my EPC lecturer MR.RIDHWAN! At first you may think of he is that kind of cool lecturer but after all, you will slowly get to realize he is actually a friendly and good lecturer. His sarcasm always makes the class lively and definitely kill our sleepiness. He always gives REAL examples and to ensure all of us understand the slides instead just stick whatever everything from the textbook. Besides, we were also given chance to express our own ideas and example. I guess this probably is how a Effective Public Communication Class should be.
On the other hand, initially i thought communication is just like having a conversation with others but actually it's more than that. There is non verbal and verbal in communication and also communication involves the use of codes which are encoding and decoding. Also, i've learnt that how perception influence our experience and our communication with others. While in my presentation, i've improved a lot. This module provides a lot of chances to communicate and spoke out your own ideas to the audience. I am glad that i've enhance my confident when comes to speaking not only during presentation and also communication with others. Besides, i also improved my nonverbal communication during my presentation.
All in all, this module enhance our awareness of communication and also teach us how to speak with others in a more effective way. I've learnt a lot as this gets to help us in our real life situation.
There are only two presentations in this module. The first one is a group presentation and the second one is in a pair to present.
The first presentation we've chosen Petaling Street and create a photo blog. We are required to take photos and write description according to the category such as people, architecture, food and architecture.
The second presentation me and my partner have chosen religious building as our topic and Chartres Cathedral in France will be the architecture that we have to discover.
